Corporate Social Responsibility (C.S.R)

In education, CSR most commonly stands for Corporate Social Responsibility. It refers to initiatives where companies fund or support educational projects, such as improving school infrastructure, providing scholarships, or enhancing digital learning, to fulfill social obligations and improve educational access.

Funding and Resources: Corporations invest in building classrooms, providing digital tools, and supporting underprivileged students.

Teacher Training: Initiatives often include training educators on modern pedagogical tools.

Infrastructure Improvement: Upgrading school facilities, particularly in rural areas.

Legal Mandate (India): Under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, eligible companies are required to spend a portion of their profits on social causes, with education being a major focus area.
